Ideal, heavy weight sock for all seasons, backpacking or hiking in medium to heavyweight footwear. Also great for skiing. Made in New Zealand from 80% superfine New Zealand Merino wool with 20% Nylon for added strength, durability and shape retention.
Features:
* All over loop pile cushioning for superior comfort and foot protection.
* ESS technology (Elastic Support System): high stretch elastic is knitted into the sock to prevent sock riding down and to provide foot and leg support.
* Extra elastic ankle support to further prevent sock ride down and to improve fit and comfort.
* High density padding at heel and toe for extra protection against blisters.
* Smooth toe seam to reduce friction.
* High stretch, double cuff top for ease of fit.
About Merino Wool:
New Zealand produces some of the best superfine Merino wool in the world. Merino wool is much finer than traditional wool making it smooth against your skin and more comfortable to wear. With many more fibres contained in the fabric it traps more tiny air pockets and locks in body heat. Merino wool is highly breathable and it wicks moisture away from your body, releasing it into the air. This helps to regulate your temperature – keeping you warm in cold weather and cool in hot.
The natural anti-microbial properties of Merino wool make it odour resistant – another big advantage over synthetic fabrics. In very wet conditions, it will absorb up to a third of its weight in water without feeling clammy and retains some of its warmth even when very wet.

Please follow those on the packaging. Machine washable in warm water with a gentle detergent. Do not tumble dry. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean.
Also available: Woolskin Sheepskin Shampoo/Woolwash, a gentle shampoo that is ideal for cleaning woollen garments, as well as sheepskin. It contains oils that condition the wool fibres at the same time as removing dirt and stains. Tea Tree Oil acts as an antibacterial and leaves a fresh, delicate fragrance. Suitable for machine or hand washing.
