Solar garden lights charge up during the day, and light up automatically when the sun goes down. Depending on the amount of sunlight they receive during the day, they will often stay on all night. Each Super Bright Solar Garden Light has 3 high spec LED (Light emitting diode) bulbs making our lights up to three times brighter than other models. Special LED light bulbs last at least 10 years.
Technical
The brightness of LED lights are not indicated by watts. The measurement is 'mcd' which stands for micro candle light. The power of our Super Bright solar garden light is about 2000mcd with full charge. They are powered by two rechargeable AA size NI-CD batteries which are charged by the solar panel. Batteries are easily replaced. Rechargeable batteries should last about 1 year and are widely available. (Note: it is fine to use the more powerful NiMh batteries but must be AA 1.2V, 600mAH.) Dimensions
The top where the solar panel is located is 160mm in diameter (6.3 inches) of which the solar panel is 60 x 60mm (2.3 inches). The top - (head part) is 100mm high (4 inches). There is a 240mm (9.5 inch) shaft, that attaches snugly to the head part, and a 150mm (6 inch) stake that fits into the shaft – this is the part that is driven into the ground. The total length of the 3 pieces fitted together is 480mm (approx 19 inches), or 350mm (13.75 inches) when driven into the ground. Weight is approx 500g (1.1 lbs).
Easy to install
You’ll have one going in two minutes. It all fastens together - no wires - just place in the ground (special stake provided). In hard ground, push the stake in first so you are not pushing on light assembly. Place in sunny location. Turn on switch. LED bulbs last ten years. Rechargeable batteries inside can be changed every 1.5 -2 years.
