About Baroque Pearls
Baroque pearls are simply pearls that have an irregular shape. Cultured freshwater pearls, from freshwater mussels, are most commonly baroque, because freshwater pearls are nucleated with irregular shaped mantle-tissue instead of spherical beads. Thus these pearls are rarely perfectly spherical and can appear oval or ovoid.
